Who We Are
The Little Nicholson Street Play Centre (LNSP) is a play centre for children aged 0-5 and their parents and carers. The centre is open every weekday from 9am until 5pm – it’s like playgroup, but open the hours you need. The centre is not manned and relies on the honesty of attendees to hold a valid membership or pass.
LNSP has been available to children for over 30 years. Its members established the centre as a self-financing not-for-profit incorporated association in 1999. We secured a licence from Inner West Council for exclusive use of the land in 2012 – you can view the licence by clicking here. A part of the licence process included creating a constitution, this constitution includes the principles for how the centre is governed, you can view the constitution by clicking here.
Membership is open to everyone via the payment of an annual membership fee or you can attend casually with our 5-trip pass or single day pass. We also offer a Day Pass for those wanting to try out the centre or just have a one off need.
The centre is managed by a committee which consists of a group of volunteers. We encourage all members to get involved in the management of the centre and assist with its maintenance, provide ideas and assistance wherever possible.
Members are also invited to free events hosted for their children and are welcome to book the centre for their child’s party on Saturdays, click here to find out more about hosting your next party at LNSP.
Fundraising plays a key part of allowing us to maintain the centre, whether it be major equipment or toys. It also provides us with additional funding for major projects like co-investment alongside grants, soft fall and fence replacement and other unexpected costs that may not be budgeted. We look forward to welcoming you to the LNSP community!
